Tank hatch stolen from Rommel memorial

In 2022, it was discovered that a tank hatch was missing from the memorial at the memorial on the place of Erwin Rommel's death outside Herrlingen in Germany. The hatch of the tank was a decorative part of the memorial, and it was written: "Here, on 14.10.1944, Field Marshal Erwin Rommel was forced into suicide! He took the poisoned cup and sacrificed himself, to save the lives of his family from Hitler’s henchmen."
Subsequently, traces of artificial blood appeared on the monument, oozing from the attachment points of the missing tank hatch. Most likely, this symbolizes that the wounds of the memorial are alive since people still remember and honor the memory of the great Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.
Even though Erwin Rommel was a Nazi general, the desecration of any monuments to the victims is vandalism, which in fact defeats any moral purpose that the vandals had. And the appearance of blood on the monument shows that this crime will not stop people to remember and honor the memory of Erwin Rommel even 100 years after his death.
